Office Coffee Cost per Cup in the Philippines (2026 Pantry Guide)

By Robin Salvador, co-founder, Caffeine Brothers
Last updated: October 13, 2026

Quick answer: In the Philippines, office coffee brewed from whole beans costs about ₱9 to ₱12 per cup for the coffee alone when you buy 10 kg wholesale boxes, about ₱11 to ₱14 from retail bags, and ₱24 per cup from single-serve drip bags. These figures use Caffeine Brothers shop prices checked on October 13, 2026 and a 12 g dose per cup (about a 200 ml mug).

Key takeaways

  • A 12 g cup from a 10 kg Robusta box costs ₱9.28; from a 10 kg Benguet Arabica box it costs ₱12.18.
  • Buying the same coffee in 800 g retail bags adds roughly 14% per cup compared with the 10 kg box.
  • A drip bag costs ₱24.00 per cup, about 2.4 times a bulk-brewed cup, but needs no machine or measuring.
  • An office of 20 drinking 2 cups a day uses about 10.6 kg of coffee a month, close to one 10 kg box.
  • The biggest lever on cost is the dose: going from 12 g to 15 g per cup raises the coffee cost by 25%.

How do you calculate the cost of one cup of office coffee?

The cost of the coffee in one cup is simple to work out: divide the price of the bag by its weight in grams, then multiply by the grams you use per cup. A 10 kg box priced at ₱8,300 works out to ₱0.83 per gram, so a 12 g cup costs ₱9.96.

The part offices usually guess is the dose. The National Coffee Association in the United States suggests 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces (about 180 ml) of water, its so-called “golden ratio”. Because tablespoons vary, we plan in grams. In this guide, 12 g per cup is our planning figure for a typical 200 ml office mug, which is about 1 part coffee to 17 parts water. Our coffee-to-water ratio chart shows the same ratios for bigger batches.

We also show 10 g (a lighter cup, and the fill of one Caffeine Brothers drip bag) and 15 g (a stronger cup or a larger mug), because the dose changes the budget more than any other choice.

Smaller offices that can’t use 10 kg before the coffee goes stale often buy retail bags instead. Here is the same calculation for 800 g bags, the largest retail size, plus drip bags.

How much coffee does an office use per month?

To size your order, multiply headcount by cups per person per day, working days and grams per cup. The table assumes 2 cups per person per working day, 22 working days and 12 g per cup. The monthly cost uses CB’s Finest at the 10 kg box price (₱830/kg).

That works out to about ₱438 per person per month for the coffee itself. If your office drinks more or less, our free office coffee calculator does the same sum with your own headcount and habits, and our guide to how many cups you get from 1 kg of beans shows yields by brew method.

What isn’t included in the cost per cup?

The figures above are for coffee only. A real pantry budget also includes:

  • Sugar, creamer and milk. These can cost as much as the coffee if most staff take them.
  • Cups, stirrers and filters. Paper cups add up quickly; reusable mugs cut this to almost zero.
  • Equipment. A drip machine, grinder or French press, plus descaling and repairs.
  • Water and electricity. Usually small per cup, but not zero.
  • Waste. Coffee left on the warmer and poured away, or beans that go stale before they are used.

If you already buy beans from us, we can supply some pantry items such as creamer, sugar, muscovado, paper cups and stirrers with your coffee order on request. Ask us what we can include.

Bulk beans, retail bags or drip bags: which suits your office?

Many offices mix the options: a 10 kg box for the main pantry and a few boxes of drip bags for meeting rooms and visitors.

Five steps to set up an office coffee budget

  1. Count your drinkers. Ask how many people drink coffee at work and how many cups they have a day. Don’t assume everyone does.
  2. Choose a dose and stick to it. Put a scale or a marked scoop next to the brewer. Going from 12 g to 15 g per cup raises the coffee bill by 25%.
  3. Pick the format by headcount. Use the monthly table above: about 20 or more drinkers can finish a 10 kg box in a month.
  4. Add the extras. Budget separately for sugar, creamer, cups and equipment.
  5. Review after one month. Compare what you actually used with the estimate and adjust the next order.

How much coffee is too much?

A budget should also suit your staff. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) says caffeine intakes of up to 400 mg a day from all sources don’t raise safety concerns for healthy adults, and single doses of up to 200 mg don’t either. For pregnant women, EFSA’s figure is up to 200 mg a day. Caffeine per cup varies with the bean and the dose, so it helps to offer a milder option, such as Arabica, alongside a strong Robusta or barako.

Keeping bulk coffee fresh in the office

Bulk buying only saves money if the coffee is used while it still tastes good. Keep opened bags sealed, away from heat and light, and buy an amount you will finish in a few weeks. Our guide to how long coffee beans stay fresh in Philippine conditions covers storage in hot, humid offices.

Frequently asked questions

How much does office coffee cost per cup in the Philippines?

Brewed from whole beans bought in 10 kg wholesale boxes, the coffee in one 12 g cup costs about ₱9 to ₱12 at Caffeine Brothers prices checked on October 13, 2026. The same cup from retail 800 g bags costs about ₱11 to ₱14, and a single-serve drip bag costs ₱24.

How many kilos of coffee does an office of 20 people need per month?

At 2 cups per person per working day, 22 working days and 12 g per cup, 20 people use about 10.6 kg of ground coffee a month. That is roughly one 10 kg wholesale box, with a little extra.

Are drip bags or a coffee machine cheaper for an office?

Brewing from bulk beans is cheaper per cup: about ₱10 versus ₱24 for a drip bag in our price check. Drip bags cost more but need no machine, no cleaning and no measuring, so they suit small teams, meeting rooms and staff who are often out of the office.

How long does a 10 kg box of coffee last?

It depends on headcount and cups per day. At 2 cups per person per day and 12 g per cup, a 10 kg box lasts an office of 10 people about 2 months and an office of 50 people about 8 working days. Smaller offices can buy smaller bags to keep the coffee fresh.
