Coffee Prices in the Philippines 2026: Farm to Cup
By Robin Salvador, co-founder, Caffeine Brothers
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Quick answer: Philippine farmers were paid an average of ₱228.67 a kilo for green Robusta beans and ₱264.65 for green Arabica in 2025, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Robusta was ₱90.31 in 2023, so its farmgate price rose about 2.5 times in two years. Shelf prices moved less: PSA’s coffee consumer price index rose 17.8% from September 2023 to September 2026. Roasted beans cost ₱813 to ₱1,068 a kilo at Caffeine Brothers as of October 23, 2026, or about ₱8 to ₱11 per 10 g cup.
Key takeaways
- PSA’s average farmgate price for green Robusta went from ₱90.31/kg in 2023 to ₱133.15 in 2024 and ₱228.67 in 2025. Arabica went from ₱228.76 to ₱264.65 over the same two years.
- World prices are now falling. The ICO Composite price averaged 262.18 US cents per pound in September 2026, down 8.7% from August and 19.2% below September 2025.
- Monthly PSA data shows Robusta farmgate prices sliding from ₱228.03/kg in January 2026 to ₱168.83 in June 2026.
- Retail coffee inflation peaked at 9.1% year on year in January 2026 and slowed to 5.7% in September 2026, below the 7.2% rate for all items.
- At October 23, 2026 prices, a 10 g cup from a 1 kg bag of Caffeine Brothers beans costs ₱8.13 (Robusta) to ₱10.68 (Arabica).
We roast Philippine-grown coffee every day, and price is the question we hear most from home brewers and café owners. This guide follows coffee prices through three stages: what farmers are paid, what the world market pays for green beans, and what shoppers pay in stores. Every figure comes from a dated public source listed at the end, plus our own shop prices checked on the day.
How much is coffee per kilo in the Philippines right now?
The answer changes a lot depending on which kilo you mean. A kilo of green (unroasted) beans at the farm, a kilo of roasted beans in a retail bag and a kilo of 3-in-1 mix are different products. The table below puts the latest available number for each stage side by side.
| Stage | Measure | Latest figure | Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farm (PSA) | Green Robusta, national average | ₱228.67/kg (2025) | ₱90.31/kg in 2023 |
| Farm (PSA) | Green Arabica, national average | ₱264.65/kg (2025) | ₱228.76/kg in 2023 |
| Farm (PSA) | Green Robusta, monthly | ₱168.83/kg (June 2026) | ₱248.30/kg in June 2025 |
| World (ICO) | Composite indicator price | 262.18 US¢/lb (Sept 2026) | 324.62 in Sept 2025 |
| World (ICO) | Robustas group price | 167.49 US¢/lb (Sept 2026) | 210.85 in Sept 2025 |
| Shelf (PSA CPI) | Coffee and coffee substitutes | 134.5 (Sept 2026, 2018 = 100) | 127.3 in Sept 2025 (+5.7%) |
| Roasted retail (CB) | Robusta, 1 kg bag | ₱813 | Arabica 1 kg ₱1,068 |
PSA collects farmgate prices from sample farmers and traders in each province every month. The national figure is an average across grades and places, so individual farmers can sell well above or below it. For example, the Philippine Coffee Board told the Inquirer in February 2025 that Robusta had doubled to ₱350 a kilo from ₱180. PSA’s national Robusta average for that same month was ₱268.25. Both can be true: a trade quote for good beans in one market will sit above a national average that includes lower grades.

Shop Coffee Beans →How fast have farmgate coffee prices risen?
For most of the last decade, farmgate prices barely moved. Green Robusta stayed between ₱70.95 and ₱84.58 a kilo from 2015 to 2022. Arabica sat around ₱93 to ₱106 from 2015 to 2021, then jumped to ₱159.37 in 2022 and ₱228.76 in 2023. Robusta caught up later, rising to ₱133.15 in 2024 and ₱228.67 in 2025. For a sense of the longer view, the Philippine Coffee Board republished a 2014 report quoting green beans at ₱95 a kilo.

All four coffee types grown in the Philippines got more expensive at the farm. Excelsa had the sharpest 2025 jump in the PSA series, though it is grown in much smaller volumes, so its average rests on fewer price reports.
| Green beans (₱/kg) | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 | Jan to Jun 2026 average |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arabica | 228.76 | 211.28 | 264.65 | 312.98 |
| Excelsa | 89.49 | 145.20 | 358.03 | 176.20 |
| Liberica (barako) | 27.69* | 146.77 | 175.01 | 172.58 |
| Robusta | 90.31 | 133.15 | 228.67 | 206.85 |
What happened to world coffee prices?
PSA counted 35,645.64 tonnes of green coffee beans produced in the Philippines in 2025, while local consumption is put at over 100,000 tonnes a year, so most of the coffee Filipinos drink is imported and the world green coffee price matters here. The International Coffee Organization (ICO) tracks it with its Composite Indicator Price, or I-CIP. In September of each year it averaged 153.13 US cents per pound in 2023, 258.90 in 2024 and 324.62 in 2025. In September 2026 it averaged 262.18, down 8.7% from August 2026.
The ICO’s September 2026 report gives the reasons for the fall. Brazil’s national supply agency CONAB raised its estimate for the 2026/27 crop to a record 67.6 million bags, and the ICO now expects a 3.0 million bag surplus for coffee year 2025/26 after four deficit years. Prices still have support: certified Arabica stocks in New York were the lowest since 1999 in mid-September, and NOAA put the chance of a very strong El Niño above 90%. Prices for 2027 are not settled.
Robusta matters most for the Philippines because it made up 72% of local green bean output in 2025 (25,731.07 of 35,645.64 tonnes, per PSA). The ICO’s Robustas price averaged 123.89 US cents per pound in September 2023, 242.08 in September 2024, 210.85 in September 2025 and 167.49 in September 2026.
Did shelf prices go up as much as farm prices?
No. PSA’s consumer price index for “coffee and coffee substitutes”, which covers coffee bought by households, rose from 114.2 in September 2023 to 134.5 in September 2026 (2018 = 100). That is a 17.8% increase over three years. Over the same period, green Robusta at the farm rose about 153% (comparing 2023 and 2025 annual averages) and the ICO Composite rose 71.2%.

One reason is that green coffee is only part of what a shopper pays for. A sachet or jar also carries processing, packaging, sugar and creamer, freight, retail margins and taxes. Another is timing: shelf prices change in steps, for example when DTI revises its suggested retail prices for coffee sachets, as the Inquirer reported in February 2025. Coffee inflation in the CPI climbed through 2025, averaged 6.8% for the year, peaked at 9.1% in January 2026 and has slowed every month since, to 5.7% in September 2026. That month, all items rose 7.2%, so coffee is now rising more slowly than the overall basket.
How much of a roasted kilo is the farmgate price?
Roasting drives water out of the bean, so a kilo of roasted coffee needs more than a kilo of green coffee. Sweet Maria’s, a US green coffee seller, lists average weight loss of about 13.3% at a medium-dark “City+” roast and 15.1% at “Full City+”. Using those figures with PSA’s 2025 averages gives a rough farmgate cost inside each roasted kilo. This is an illustration only. It leaves out hulling, sorting, freight, roasting, packing and losses, and it does not describe what any roaster, including us, actually pays.
| Coffee | 2025 farmgate, green (₱/kg) | Roast loss used | Green needed per roasted kg | Farmgate cost per roasted kg | Per 10 g cup |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robusta (national) | 228.67 | 15.1% | 1.18 kg | ₱269.34 | ₱2.69 |
| Liberica (national) | 175.01 | 15.1% | 1.18 kg | ₱206.13 | ₱2.06 |
| Arabica (national) | 264.65 | 13.3% | 1.15 kg | ₱305.25 | ₱3.05 |
| Arabica (Cordillera average) | 355.27 | 13.3% | 1.15 kg | ₱409.77 | ₱4.10 |
For comparison, our 1 kg bags sell for ₱813 (Robusta, Batangas, dark roast), ₱858 (Kapeng Barako, 100% Liberica), and ₱1,068 (Arabica, Benguet, medium roast). The Cordillera row is the closer match for Benguet Arabica, since PSA’s regional average there was ₱355.27 a kilo in 2025, well above the ₱264.65 national figure.
What does a cup of brewed coffee cost at home in 2026?
We use 10 g of ground coffee per cup as a planning dose. At that dose, here is what a cup costs with our beans at October 23, 2026 prices. All bags can be ground for free to whole bean, coarse, normal or fine.
| Beans | 200 g bag | Per cup (200 g) | 1 kg bag | Per cup (1 kg) | 10 kg box, per cup |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robusta | ₱231 | ₱11.55 | ₱813 | ₱8.13 | ₱7.73 |
| Kapeng Barako (Liberica) | ₱242 | ₱12.10 | ₱858 | ₱8.58 | ₱8.16 |
| CB’s Finest blend | ₱244 | ₱12.20 | ₱866 | ₱8.66 | ₱8.30 |
| Arabica-Robusta blend | ₱274 | ₱13.70 | ₱991 | ₱9.91 | ₱9.42 |
| Arabica | ₱292 | ₱14.60 | ₱1,068 | ₱10.68 | ₱10.15 |
If you are comparing this with sachets, our 3-in-1 vs brewed coffee guide puts DTI suggested retail prices for popular sachets next to these per-cup costs. For production and import volumes behind these prices, see our Philippine coffee statistics for 2026.
How to keep your coffee cost per cup down
- Buy the bag size you can finish while the coffee is fresh. Larger bags cut the cost per cup, but only if you use them up.
- Weigh your coffee. Going from 12 g to 10 g a cup cuts bean use by a sixth. Adjust grind and brew time so the cup still tastes right.
- Choose the roast for the drink. Robusta and barako cost less per cup and hold up well with milk and sugar; Arabica costs more and suits black coffee.
- For offices and cafés, compare per-kilo prices. Our wholesale boxes are 10 kg (10 × 1 kg bags) with free Metro Manila delivery, which our wholesale coffee bean prices page explains.
- Check prices again in a few months. World prices have fallen since late 2025, and PSA’s 2026 farmgate data has been easing.
Frequently asked questions
How much is coffee per kilo in the Philippines in 2026?
It depends on the stage. PSA put the 2025 average farmgate price of green Robusta beans at ₱228.67 a kilo and green Arabica at ₱264.65. Roasted beans cost more because of roasting loss, processing, packing and delivery: Caffeine Brothers sells roasted Robusta at ₱813 and Benguet Arabica at ₱1,068 per 1 kg bag as of October 23, 2026.
Why did coffee prices go up in the Philippines?
World green coffee prices hit records in 2025, and PSA’s farmgate data shows Robusta more than doubling from ₱90.31 a kilo in 2023 to ₱228.67 in 2025. The Philippines imports most of the coffee it drinks, so world prices feed into local prices. Retail coffee prices rose too, but more slowly: the coffee CPI was up 17.8% from September 2023 to September 2026.
Are coffee prices going down in 2026?
World prices have eased. The ICO Composite price averaged 262.18 US cents per pound in September 2026, 19.2% below September 2025, and PSA’s Robusta farmgate average fell from ₱228.03 in January 2026 to ₱168.83 in June 2026.
